ISEH Olympics spotlight: Meet Professor Mike Loosemore MBE, who has been in Paris throughout the Olympic Games supporting athletes as the Chief Medical Officer for both GB Boxing and GB Taekwondo.
With extensive experience travelling with national squads, including five Commonwealth Games as well as numerous World and European Championships, Paris 2024 marked his sixth Olympic Games.
At the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH), he is a Lead Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine, providing individualised care to patients with musculoskeletal issues, sports injuries, and concussion injuries, and includes children as young as 12.
Collaborating with other experts in the field, Prof. Loosemore ensures all treatments and rehabilitation plans are tailored to each patient’s needs. Additionally, he advocates for exercise as a preventative intervention and treatment for various medical conditions and is also active in research, having published numerous works on different aspects of Sports and Exercise Medicine.
