Professional Biography

Moira has worked as a dance specialist physiotherapist for many years. Starting off as a professional ballet dancer herself, her expertise is with professional dancers and vocational dance students. She has a master’s degree in sports physiotherapy and her PhD at UCL focused on profiling young dancers for intensive training.

Moira worked for the Royal Ballet School and was Head of Physiotherapy for the Royal Ballet Company, working there for eighteen years. Her interests are in hypermobility and reducing injury risk. Understanding individual physiques and the precision of technique required, allow effective coaching back from injury and transition back to performance, through strength and control work. She regularly liaises with orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians and her own multidisciplinary network.

Musical Theatre dancers visit from London’s West End, Moira works with dancers from abroad and provides care for visiting companies from New York. Her patient base is wide and varied.

Moira lectures internationally on dance injuries, hypermobility, dance technique and prevention of injury.
