Football Brain Health – Advances in Traumatic Brain Injury and Repetitive Head Impact Management

April 23, 2025 @ 18:30 - 20:30

We are pleased to announce an upcoming ISEH Learning online educational session on footballers’ brain health. Titled “Football Brain Health – Advances in Traumatic Brain Injury and Repetitive Head Impact Management,” the session will take place on Wednesday, 23rd April, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

This virtual session, designed for health professionals, will provide the latest updates on:

  • Tools for diagnosing concussions and significant head impacts
  • Best practices for managing persistent symptoms
  • Assessing former athletes concerned about their brain health, including conditions such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)

The session will be led by three leading brain science specialists:

  • Dr. Richard Sylvester – Consultant Neurologist
  • Professor David Sharp – Consultant Neurologist
  • Dr. Neil Graham – Clinical Lecturer and Academic

This event is particularly relevant to professionals working with current and former footballers (and contact sports players more generally), including SEM doctors, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and GPs.

All three speakers are part of The Advanced BRAIN (Biomarker, Advanced Imaging, and Neurocognitive) Health Clinic, which offers confidential specialist assessments and ongoing support for retired elite football players concerned about brain health. Based at ISEH, the clinic provides free, specialised neurological services, incorporating advanced imaging, neurocognitive assessments, and biomarker analysis.

Registration details to be added soon – please see our social media accounts in the meantime for the latest event information.
