ISEH and UCL Associate Professor, Dr Flaminia Ronca, led a collaborative study with the support of Prof. Paul Burgess from the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN), and in collaboration with Dr’s Megan Lowery, Joanne Blodgett, Georgie Bruinvels, Chris Jones and Prof. Mike Loosemore, that aimed to investigate whether cognitive processes in menstruating females fluctuate throughout their cycle.
They did this using a new sport-oriented cognitive test battery designed to measure mental processes during sport activities.
This study and its findings was featured in BBC’s Science Magazine.
