As the UK experiences record breaking temperatures, ISEH’s Professor Mathew Wilson, spoke to Stylist to share advice on how to exercise safely during a heatwave. Some may sound simple, but it’s important to remember and make adjustments to your training during this time.
Professor Mat Wilson’s tips include:
- Minimising heat exposure: consider exercising outside of peak hours when the sun isn’t as strong
- Think about switching the type of exercises you do – e.g. strength and conditioning exercises can have performance benefits in the heat.
