NFL returns to London


The American NFL (National Football League) returns to London for three games this autumn. Each game will be played at Wembley Stadium, which has been home to NFL International Series games since 2007. NFL Football continues to be highly popular on this side of the Atlantic, with some players backing the creation of a London NFL team.

ISEH opens its doors to UCL Sports Medicine, Exercise & Health MSc


This month the ISEH is welcoming 30 new students on the UCL MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health. Hosted by the ISEH, the MSc focuses on sports injuries and their prevention and treatment, as well as the vital role of exercise in maintaining good health and preventing chronic disease.

Golf: Injury forces Woods out of Ryder Cup


The Ryder Cup, golf’s most high-profile team competition, gets under way in Gleneagles on 23 September. However, those wishing to see former world No.1 golfer Tiger Woods in action will be disappointed as he withdrew from the US Ryder Cup team recently due to a back injury.

Children who are aerobically fit have greater brain capacities


A new study conducted by US researchers has revealed that children who are aerobically fit tend to have greater brain capacities compared to those who are un-fit. UCL PARG's Dr Mark Hamer said "this study is consistent with some of our findings where we show an association between sedentary behaviour and psychological health in children."

Nadal out of the US Open


Rafael Nadal has announced his withdrawal from the US Open. The world No. 2 damaged his ulnar nerve in his wrist during a training session, forcing him to wear a cast for up to three weeks.
