The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health (ISEH) is pleased to make our ‘post viral pre-particpation questionnaire,’ a freely available resource to support clinical decision making when guiding athletes back to competition following a recent viral infection.
The post-viral questionnaire should be completed by the athlete and given to their medical practitioner, where an informed choice on whether a return to exercise is appropriate. The questionnaire aims to highlight possible heart, respiratory and clotting related disorders. It was developed by Professors James Hull, Mathew Wilson and Guido Pieles, who have all guided numerous athletes back to competition (including the Tokyo Olympics) following COVID infection.
The questionnaire can be accessed via our Sports Respiratory clinic.
