Nearly 100 people gathered in glorious summer sunshine on Sunday 29 June to take part in the second ISEH 5K run in aid of UCLH Charity. The run was held to mark the first anniversary of the Institute, which was officially opened by Lord Coe in June last year.

Reflecting the ISEH’s mission to cater for both competitive sportsmen and women and those with more gentle exercise regimes, participants ran, jogged or walked the leafy course in London’s Regents Park, cheered on by yellow-shirted ISEH marshals. Entrants were aged 5 to 55, making the run a truly family-friendly event.

Professor Fares Haddad, the ISEH’s Clinical Director, presented prizes to the category winners, who all received an ISEH T-shirt and sports bag to go with their finishers’ medals and certificates. For many of those participating, a race highlight was the flapjacks and bananas available afterwards!

Well done to all those who participated and others who supported the race, whether by fundraising or volunteering – a big thanks to you all.

“A great way to start a summer Sunday, in fabulous surroundings and for a good cause”
