Experts and opinion leaders in the fields of sports sports orthopaedics took part in the highly successful ‘Sports Injuries and Sports Orthopaedics: State of the Art’ conference held at the Royal Society of Medicine on 21 and 22 January. The event, which was hosted by the ISEH, the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) and The British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma & Arthroscopy Association (BOSTAA) and supported by Arthrex Inc, TRB Chemedica and UTC Imaging BV, was attended by over 150 clinical professionals from the UK and overseas.

The conference was chaired by Prof Fares Haddad, Clinical Director at the ISEH who played a key role in organising the conference. Delegates heard from speakers on the latest innovations, progress and practice in sports orthopaedics and took the opportunity to discuss these with colleagues during the programme breaks.

A number of  ISEH consultants presented at the event, on topics ranging from concussion management to treating foot and ankle injuries. Delegates also heard about the new latest developments at the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine and the National Tendinopathy Centre.

Over the next few months we will be producing summaries of many of the conference highlights. To receive updates on these, subscribe to our free newsletter or follow us on Twitter @TheISEH.
