On Thursday 20 March Dr Daniel Poulter MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Health visited the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH). Dr Poulter was met by:

  • Prof Fares Haddad, Clinical Director, ISEH
  • Dr Roderick Jaques, President, Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine
  • Dr Philip Batty, Vice President, Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine
  • Prof Ian Cumming, CE, Health Education England
  • Mr Matt James, Development Director ISEH
  • Mike Foster, Deputy Chief Executive UCLH. 

The Minister was given a guided tour of the facilities which included the 2nd floor where he was shown the world-class clinical facilities. This included the radiology and imaging suite at the Institute which has state of the art diagnostic equipment including a 3T MRI scanner, ultrasound and X-ray.

This was followed by a group meeting, with the agenda focused on the work the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine is involved in nationally. Following that Dr Mike Loosemore joined the meeting and a wider discussion took place about the importance of exercise medicine.
