Aria Ghassemi qualified at the London Hospital Medical School in 1995 and then went on to further training in General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery and Urological Surgery before taken his M Sc in Surgical Sciences in 2001.
As a Specialist on the North East Thames rotation, he received excellent training in all aspects of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery including Lower and Upper Limb Reconstruction and Foot and Ankle Trauma, working at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children and The Royal London Hospital. His fellowship training took place at the prestigious Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford where he honed his skills in all aspects of complex Foot and Ankle surgery. His work with the Bone Infection Unit there has allowed him to provide the highest standards of surgical treatment of diabetic feet.
Mr Ghassemi’s practice includes all aspects of elective and trauma foot and ankle surgery. He also has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery. He has an ongoing interest in research and is also involved with teaching orthopaedic trainees, being involved in teaching and demonstrating specialist surgical procedures for some years now. He has published widely including a chapter on heel pain for a medical text book.
