The London International Consensus and Delphi study on Hamstring Injuries part 1 to 3 research findings published


ISEH authors and fellow experts set out to develop consensus on what represents optimal Hamstring Management in athletes after identifying three key topics where evidence was lacking after reviewing current practices and guidelines following a rise in hamstring injuries over the last decade in competitive sports.

Leading experts in providing respiratory care of athletes and researchers, including ISEH's Professor James Hull, came together as a collective at the invitation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), to undertake this work to help ensure clinicians are provided with the best approach when testing asthma related problems in athletes.

New study investigating whether variation in vitamin D status causally influences muscle strength


Low vitamin D levels are very common, as is muscle weakness and are two public health challenges that are of particular concern in ageing populations. Led by Dr Snehal Pinto Pereira, the authors investigated whether variation in vitamin D status causally influences muscle strength using data on almost half a million people from the UK Biobank study.

New study reveals how small amounts of extra time spent in moderate and vigorous physical activity may be linked to a boost to brain power in middle age


In this study, the authors assessed closely the associations of different components of daily movement with participants from The 1970 British Cohort Study - they looked at their overall cognition, memory and executive function, to understand the relative importance of each individual component for cognition.
