On the 23rd April Prof Fares Haddad attended and presented at the WRU Annual Sports Medicine Conference at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The Chair for the conference was Prof John William OBE which covered a range of subjects with the ISEH's Professor Haddad presenting on the hamstring injury, and the decision making process for surgery.

A year on from the inaugural event, the conference also attracted keynote speakers from the WRU, the BOA, Irish Rugby Football Union as well as leading sports medicine specialists including the Director of the ISEH's, Professor Fares Haddad.

Organised by the WRU's National Medical Manager, Prav Mathema and National Team Sports Physician, Geoff Davies, the conference began with an update on the WRU's medical practices and a review of the WRU Injury Surveillance report and specialist projects.

Industry experts then focused on the hamstring, together with groin and hip injuries, detailing the latest decision making processes, intervention techniques, injury management and rehabilitation.
