Sujith Konan is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hip, knee and sports surgery. He is a full time consultant at University College London Hospitals and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL. He consults privately at ISEH, the Princess Grace Hospital, the London Clinic and the Hospital of St John’s & St Elizabeth’s.  

He enjoys consulting at ISEH as it provides an excellent location for his patients and a unique opportunity to provide holistic care under one roof. He particularly likes the committed staff and contemporary infrastructure.

Mr. Konan completed higher specialist training in Orthopaedics on the University College Hospital rotations; gaining clinical, managerial and leadership skills under some of the leading surgeons in London. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2013.  He furthered his clinical skills by undertaking the prestigious fellowship in hip and knee reconstruction in Vancouver Canada, a world-renowned center. He has continued to further his clinical and leaderships skills by successfully winning several competitive and sought-after visiting fellowship awards; including British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship (Munich 2015); British Hip Society travelling fellowship (Zurich 2015); BJJ-EFORT Society/Mark Patterson travelling fellowship (Paris, Dresden, Bern 2015), European Hip Society travelling fellowship (Greece 2016) and Rothman-Ranawat Travelling fellowship (US & North America 2017).  

Mr. Konan has several allied interests in research, innovation and leadership. He has successfully completed the ULCP/ ILM Leadership certification for 2015. He is well recognised for his research interests which includes a basic science higher degree MD(res) from UCL; more than a 100 publications in the form of peer reviewed research, educational articles and textbook chapters and more than a 100 presentations in key national and international orthopedic research meetings. He is an invited faculty in several meetings. He is currently working on several key clinical and translational research projects and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL, contributing to education and higher research degree supervision.  

Mr. Konan has a simple approach to patient management. He believes that the best treatments can be achieved by combining education, research and clinical skills; all of which he is passionate about and aspires to excel in!  

Mr. Konan offers treatment for conditions in the lower limb; sports, trauma as well as chronic conditions. He is happy to review trauma, sports injuries, ACL tears, meniscal injuries, multi-ligament knee injuries, hip and knee arthroscopic procedures, as well as hip and knee arthritis. He has an interest in complex procedures such as revision/redo surgeries, infection, and hip surfacing. He is also keen on pursuing innovative approaches such as minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery.
