The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health (ISEH) was very sad to hear of the passing of Dame Tessa Jowell over the weekend.

Dame Jowell played a significant role in bringing the Olympic Games to London in 2012. She also played an instrumental part in the formation of the ISEH as a 2012 Olympic legacy project.

Dame Jowell continued to support the ISEH and attended the IOC Research Centre launch which the ISEH was awarded in 2016 where she spoke passionately about the importance of our joint mission.

Prof Fares Haddad, Clinical Director of the ISEH said ‘We have lost a great friend and unique and very gifted leader and communicator. Tessa will always be an inspiration to all of us working in this field ’
