Professional Biography

Amanda Lau is a Specialist Musculoskeletal and Sports Podiatrist who studied in Melbourne. In conjunction with her university degree, she worked with Nike, supporting athletes during triathlon and running events.

Amanda’s knowledge was enhanced by working at foot and ankle clinics, particularly focusing on complex injuries. This spurred an interest into the functional ability of the foot and the role it plays in the kinetic chain throughout the body. Amanda practices podiatry based on the principles of functional movement. These combine the physical, biological and behavioural sciences to create successful rehabilitation, treatment and injury prevention strategies.

Amanda then joined Nike Australia and continues to work as a consultant for Nike UK at conferences and educational sessions. She has also worked at Pure Sports Medicine for seven years,
alongside a variety of specialists, and with the RAF for five years. Amanda has vast experience with surgeons and specialists in London and Melbourne and has also worked with athletes in a wide variety of professional sports.

Amanda continues to lecture at Queen Mary University and UCL and has given lectures for the London Tennis Association (LTA), Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (ACPSM) and has contributed to Running Fitness, Runners World, and Women's Fitness Magazines.
